Woods and Timberlake's New Venture in St. Andrews
Tiger and Justin are set to open another T-Squared Social sports bar
St. Andrews: The Fife Council has approved a proposal from Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake to transform the St. Andrews New Picture House Cinema into the second branch of their T-Squared Social sports bar. This new establishment will be situated on North Street, just a short distance from the iconic first tee of the Old Course.
Woods and Timberlake first launched T-Squared Social in Midtown Manhattan in September 2023. The sports bar’s name combines the initials of Woods’ first name and Timberlake’s last name.
The renovation of the 90-year-old triplex theatre will include maintaining one of the full-sized screens for movie nights and live sports, ensuring the venue remains a communal asset. According to a statement from David Morris, managing director of the cinema, this development will offer a wider range of entertainment, dining, and cinema experiences to the local community, students, and visitors.
The New Picture House Cinema, originally opened in 1930 with a capacity of 910 seats, has recently been operating at just 10 per cent capacity. Due to its declining viability as a standalone cinema, the transformation into T-Squared Social presents a revitalizing opportunity. The cinema will continue operations until the redevelopment begins, which must start within the next three years as stipulated by the council's approval.
Both Woods and Timberlake have strong ties to St. Andrews, with Woods having competed in five Opens at the Old Course and Timberlake participating in the DP World Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Timberlake, an avid golf enthusiast, is also a significant investor in the sport, working closely with his partners at 8AM Golf.
This development aims to enhance the historic charm of St. Andrews while providing a modern and versatile venue for the community.
